Glossary markup
Purpose
Used in my observing logs to mark up a word or phrase that might need further explanation.
When I convert each log to XHTML for display on my main site I convert these items into links to Wikipedia.
Syntax
<gloss>Word or phrase goes here</gloss>
Examples
The <gloss>sunspot</gloss> had a very dark <gloss>umbra</gloss> and a very visible <gloss>penumbra</gloss>.
